HISTORY

This is an NFT collection created by a Brazilian designer and fan, Bruno Batella, inpired by a 3D sculpture he made to honor the band Dire Straits and their "Maestro", Sir Mark Knopfler. The artist recreated the iconic figures that starred in the 1985 music video Money For Nothing. The clip was considered a huge innovation in the musical industry with the use of 3D computer graphics and became practically as a symbol of MTV through the music chorus "I Want My MTV" sung by musician Sting, who is co-author of the song along with Mark Knopfler. Money For Nothing is part of the legendary Brothers in Arms album and was a major success on a global scale.

The artist's intention was to bring the characters Harv and Sal to life and for that he used a 3D printer and some manual craft work. The characters were modeled only based on the images of the video clip, they were 3D printed and then arranged in a mockup that also included the dog and the famous red stratocaster guitar, one of the trademarks of the guitarist and leader of the band.

From the day he started modeling the characters in 3D software, Bruno wanted this gift to reach Mark's hands.
But how could he? He started looking for fans on social media groups until someone referred the artist's agent, CrockFord Management, located in London. Bruno got in touch and sent the photos and video of the set he had done to Mark. The office staff was very receptive and promptly indicated the address where the set should be sent.

This whole process, from the creation to the arrival of the gift in the hands of Mark Knopfler, took almost 1 year. On February 24, 2002, Bruno received this photo from Mark's agents informing Mark has now received the figurines and passes on his thanks for the effort and time you put into making them!
